Experience the United States by experiencing the many cultures, races, and ethnic groups which make up this unique and diverse country: what is the face of the USA?

It is every skin color, every color and texture of hair, every color and shape of eyes, every religion practiced and language spoken in the world.

Global Reach™ Arts & Culture Camp is a project of Sounds of Hope, Ltd. This special, two-week, residential camp puts you in a live-in community in a dormitory on a beautiful university campus in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Global Reach™ Arts & Culture Camp is specially designed for participants aged 16-21 from countries around the world. Global Reach™ offers participants an amazing experience sampling the rich diversity of U.S. culture through the arts - music, dance, theater, visual arts, and more - with many opportunities for hands-on learning, trying, doing, and growing. The camp's unique mix of activities and travel excursions around the large metro cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis will give you a hands-on set of enriching arts and cultural experiences like no other camp anywhere in the world.

Each summer, a selected group of young adults venture to Minnesota from different parts of the world. They arrive as strangers but soon find themselves embraced in a closely-knit, supportive community as they dive into the rich U.S. culture as well as each other’s. Throughout the project, participants learn while having an amazing amount of fun: they go to sports events, museums, cultural festivals, and more. They play cultural games and share ideas with peers from around the world. Through Global Reach™, you will learn about the history of the central United States and meet people from its many diverse cultures. You will experience daily life and the wide variety of foods and cultures which make it such an interesting country. Through the arts, you will explore music, dance, and visual arts. You will attend cultural festivals and events; walk through typical neighborhoods and the campuses of world-renowned universities and colleges.

Global Reach™ is a great way for international young adults to quickly develop a rich understanding of U.S. culture and lifestyle, making it the perfect experience for anyone who is planning to study in the U.S: many of our past campers eventually moved to the USA for university purposes, and claimed their experience with Sounds of Hope Camps gave them a solid understanding of the U.S culture and people, which eventually turned into in a strong sense of self confidence in approaching their journey in what no longer was a “foreign country”.

DATES

The Global Reach™ 2025 session will run from May 27 to June 10!

Because Global Reach™ is a global camp, it is impossible for us to schedule the project to fit all the school schedules of all the schools in the world, but you shouldn’t let that stop you from applying! We are happy to make arrangements to the extent we can and to communicate with your school if needed. Just send us an email to explain your scheduling challenges. Also, we have had many participants who miss some school to be in the camp: we are can easily arrange a study room for participants to keep up with studies while attending Global Reach™. If you think some learning may qualify for off-campus credit, we can supply written information to schools about the learning activities during Global Reach™.

IMPORTANT: It takes time to order passports and obtain a U.S. visitor's visa. International participants are responsible for airfare to and from the United States and for obtaining all needed passports and visas. We suggest you contact the U.S. Embassy early to check on dates and processing times and requirements.
